Joe Connelly was the Founder and Publisher of VegNews Magazine, the premier vegan lifestyle magazine in the U.S.
Four years after founding the Syracuse Area Vegetarian Education Society in 1996, Joe realized that the country needed a national publication to unify the vegan movement. He came to veganism from a passion for environmental issues and remains a vegan for ethical reasons.
Joe is a contributing writer to The Animals Voice, as well as pens his own essays and articles which can be found on Medium.
While traveling throughout the world, Joe writes about his experiences and the people and animals he meets along the way. As a foodie, he also brings to life the vegan dishes he believes are worthy to share.
Joe was inducted into the North American Vegetarian Society Vegetarian Hall of Fame in 2009 and the U.S. Animal Rights Hall of Fame in 2012.
